My illustrations are mainly created using pen and paper, ink, and watercolour. My illustration work is definitely looser than my portrait artwork. I hope that it has life and energy and warmth.
I've recently completed the Good Ship Illustatration course. Honestly what a gem of an experience that was. I am still going back over the course material and will be for years to come, re-absorbing it all. To any other illustrators I cannot empahsise enough how much I reccomend it.

A THREE PAGE NARRATIVE
I created this strip of illustrations to follow a brief narrative inspired by my son. He loves to find snails in the garden in Summer time, and always says he wishes they could live indoors with us.

SKETCHBOOKS
Here is a selection of work from my sketchbooks. I almost always carry one with me. My favourite and most convenient medium to use when out and about, is a fountain pen filled with bottled ink, and a water reservoir brush filled with watered down ink. I do also love my watercolour box.

MICE
A few years ago I challenged myself to a sketch a day, every day, for a year. As part of that exercise, I drew a whole mix of things, animals, whatever items I had in front of me at the time, and these mice. Whenever the daily sketch was a mouse drawing, it related to what I had been doing that day myself. They were a lot of fun. Some of them remained tatty sketches, and some I took more time to give a polished look. They were very fun, and I still think that one day I will see what I can do with them. Perhaps they will have a children's story of their very own.
